Extracurricular Activities at Himalayan Academy Boarding School
Compulsory ECA
Himalayan Academy Boarding School offers a wide range of compulsory extracurricular activities (ECA) for all students. These include classes in dance, music, art, physical education, basketball, swimming, yoga, and IT. These activities are designed to introduce students to a variety of skills and provide a fun, dynamic learning experience outside the classroom.
In addition to being fun, these classes emphasize experiential learning. Students not only develop physical and artistic skills but also learn discipline, teamwork, and self-expression. These activities enrich the school experience and help in the holistic development of each student.
Clubs
In addition to the mandatory ECA classes, students have the opportunity to join a wide range of activity clubs. These clubs, available to students from Grades III-X, cater to specific interests, allowing students to explore hobbies, practice new skills, and express their creativity.
The clubs provide a platform for collaboration, where students can work together on projects, participate in competitions, and engage in group activities. Whether it’s drama, music, robotics, or environmental awareness, the clubs encourage students to pursue their passions and further develop both personally and socially.
Language Policy
Himalayan Academy Boarding School’s language policy emphasizes multilingualism. Apart from learning Nepali, English, and Sanskrit, students also engage in Korean language classes starting from Grade I onwards. This Co-Curricular Activity (CCA) is designed to expose students to a new language and culture, broadening their global perspective.
The Korean language program is offered in collaboration with certified Korean instructors and is mandatory for all students from Grade I. The goal is to not only teach the language but also to foster an appreciation of Korean culture and history. By learning Korean, students open doors to a new world of communication, cultural exchange, and future opportunities in an increasingly globalized society.
